Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is usually very low-key in our household. This year we didn't even acknowledge the fact that it was coming up until 2 days before. Gifts are usually non existent/small if we do them. This year I wanted to get a manicure and I am sure if you asked my husband he would say that he wanted to sleep in past 7 one day.

We woke up Saturday morning and gave our little Valentine a card and balloon! He loved playing with it and has been all week! My husband then surprised me with those pretty flowers you see pictured above. I love how colorful and bright they are!
While this little turkey "read" his card, we prepared heart shaped cinnamon rolls. I don't know if because they were heart shaped they tasted even more delicious but they certainly hit the spot and we enjoyed our morning in.

Since we are gearing up to leave for the season we decided to clean the house (romantic, I know) and then get to-go dessert from a restaurant. I loved every bit of it! I mean what mama wouldn't love a little help scrubbing the toilets and floors!?! Overall it was a spectacular day!

Happy Hump-day!

Spring Training Must-haves!

Every year Spring Training is either in Arizona or Florida. I personally love both places because both are warm and usually around this time I am over the cold temps and ready to sport some fun spring colors! This year we will be in Florida and I am so excited to take T to the beach for the first time!

This Spring Training will be a whole lot different than the others in the past. Packing not only includes for myself and my husband but for T and all of the things he needs. My must haves usually consist of a reusable water bottle, workout equipment and a beach towel, this time around it is a whole different ball game! (see what I did there?)

Jesus Calling by Sarah Young-First and foremost I need Jesus. Not just in baseball but everyday. One of my very close friends whom Jess and I lived with during the playoffs of the 2010 gifted me this book and I have kept it with me every year since. If you are looking for an easy read devotional I encourage you to try this one. It is such a great pick me up!

Coppertone Water Babies-While everyone needs to be protected from the sun, my child is exceptional because he is very light-skinned like his daddy and I have a feeling will burn to a crisp if not proportionally lathered!

Tory Burch Miller Patent Sandals-My Tory Burch sandals are a must! I love them because they are easy slip ons that add to my outfit and that is what a mama-on-the-go needs!

Baby Bjorn Baby Carrier-T is right around the stage of wanting to walk but just can't yet. He is a busy body and very nosey so I know the stroller won't always work for us when we are out at games and such. Last season it helped take some pressure off my arms a back so I am hoping for the same this season.

Boston Red Sox Cap-Boston is our home team this year (Praise Jesus!) so we have to have our swag to support daddy's team!

Neon Straw Beach Bag-This will help me pile up the rest of essentials we need when we hit the beach that can't fit in our diaper bag. I am so excited to spend this spring in Florida as a family of 3!

I am off to decorate the house for Easter! Stay tuned for some inexpensive ideas to spruce up your home for Spring!

I hope today has been a day of rest and enjoyment!

Be Still....

Over the past couple of weeks a certain Bible verse kept showing up all over my Instagram feed. After a while I couldn't ignore it anymore. After all, I had been praying hard for my family and I could tell it was God nudging me to just BE STILL!!!

When I worry, I worry about not only the current situation but what that current situation might domino into. It is a horrible habit that I have had all my life.

In Exodus 14:14 it reads:

'The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

Moses delivered profounding words that day. So profounding that if you sit quietly and read the verse you too will feel the calmness in those words.

I have kind of distanced myself from Facebook as of late. My husband and I have tried to limit our social media outlets so I have stuck with just Instagram. I know with social media one can portray a certain lifestyle or paint a picture for "followers" to see. So instead on focusing on what other people are doing and saying I have found outlets to "follow" that lift me up and encourage me. In this process I have found numerous Godly women that share verses and experiences linked to verses that have spoke to me or that I can relate to. That is when I stumbled upon The Splendor Shop.

The shop's owner makes each jewelry piece. As I scrolled through all she had to offer I couldn't help but be inspired. Every piece is uplifting in some sort of way. Very dainty and so very attractive. I actually purchased the bracelet pictured above because I am so in love with the verse and because I love a good bangle ;)

I know there are so many things wrong in this world. We all pray everyday for things that are on our hearts or issues we are dealing with. Sometimes we pray for what seems like FOREVER and a day. Some prayers are never answered and some are. God works in mysterious ways and even though it may be painful at times I have to remind myself that either way, God is good. He is fighting for us. We need only to be still.....

Love,
E
