Weekend Wrap-Up!

So this week and basically past month have been SUPER DUPER BUSY! Like to the point where all I want to do is either cry or sleep. Yes, I have reached that point. The point where you would like to just crawl up into a ball (no matter what age) and let your mom hold you. I am EXHAUSTED. I got back to Columbus on Sunday afternoon, Monday I had to go to Sumita's to get Jess and Katie's party together, Tuesday I had a test, Wednesday was Jess' birthday, Thursday was Katie's birthday lunch with the girls, Friday was Easter Egg coloring and the game was cancelled, Saturday was lunch with one of my good friends whose husband is rehabbing a torn rotator cuff and a 2 hour rain delay for the game that eventually was called and today was Easter. Whewww! That was a mouthful! I guess all the stress of the hussle and bussle of the week got to me because I got 2 fever blisters. One at the beginning of the week and one last night! The one I got last night is really big and hurts really bad. Sumita's husband is a doctor so he wrote me a prescription for some medicine to shorten the life of my horrid fever blister. Hopefully it works because tomorrow I leave for FABULOUS Atlanta and I dont want it to make me feel like crap while I am there.

Take a look at these beautiful tulips I saw at lunch the other day. They were so pretty I had to take a picture of them and share it with you.

Jess threw on Thursday night and he did great! I hadnt seen him throw in his Columbus uniform yet so I was so excited! He went 2 innings: 3 hits, 1 run, 1 earned run and 1 strike out.

Time to Do Work!

Today we went to church and had lunch at Sumita's with her family and Wes and Katie. It was really nice to be able to go to church for once on Easter and have a nice lunch afterwards. I missed my family though but Im thankful for Sumita being such a nice woman trying to make us feel so at home. I hope yall all had a very blessed Easter.

I am going to go pack for HOT-Lanta now. I am so excited because I know I am going to have some awesome things to post about this week! I hope yalls monday starts your week off great!

Happy Birthday Jess!

Most of you know that today is not only the 20th day of April but it is my Husbands 25th Birthday! When I was growing up birthdays and holidays were always huge for us so since I met Jess I have tried to magnify all holidays and birthdays because thats all I know! This being his 25th was big in itself! I mean after this its 30, then 40, then 50 and so on. He is not a little kid anymore! He is in his mid-20's! Im sure most of yall are thinking "Oh please he is still a baby!" but to us he feels so old! I did my best at going as over the top as I could for this birthday and Jess seems very pleased with it! He said this was the best birthday ever! It melted my heart!

Since this was such a BIG birthday I asked Tom and Kim if they would want to split a BIG present with me for Jess. The big gift I had in mind was a gun! Yes, another gun but it was one that he really really really wanted but he didnt want to buy it for himself. So Tom, Kim and myself did and Im so glad that we did! The gun was an AR-15 H-Bar .223, for those of you who are not up to date on your gun names it is an Assault Rifle. These are one of the guns that is used overseas in Afghanistan, yes to assault people with. Just kidding! There will be no assaulting with this gun its all just for fun.

Since today was Jess' birthday I made him birthday dinner of his choice! His choice just so happen to be a Tuna Casserole from our new healthy cookbook my parents bought us! After the game I sped over and put it in the oven. I had to pre mix all the ingredients before the game since its not over until 9:30 or 10 and it didnt come out as good as I would have liked because it had been in the refrigerator so long but Jess didnt mind it. He said he loved it! I think he just didnt want to hurt my feelings but Im sure I wont be getting anymore requests for that! Lol.

Here are the ingredients and what it looked like coming of the oven. Let me know if you want to try making it and I will be happy to email you all the directions!

Take all this and mix it all together....

Tah-Dah!!!!!

Since our nights and days are all wrong we are about to watch a movie while most of yall sleep! So goodnight until the next time....

Im BACK!!!!!

OMGoodness! I am so sorry that I have been away for so long! I have just been so busy with school, moving and being home with my family that I havent had time to post! So here is a little insight as to what I have been up to!

This is one of the sections I help decorate for the prom. My mom was in charge of 3 sections and it literally took from Wednesday morning until Friday night at 10pm to do. Sounds like forever right? It was! And we were the prepared ones! The rest of the hall that was being decorated wasnt done until right before prom started.

Our Home for the Season!

We finally got all moved in! Sunday after we dropped Kim off at the airport we went straight to Wal-Mart to get all the necessities for our new place. I had brought most of the "living" type stuff but we still needed food and a couple of cleaning things. Wal-Mart seriously has our number when it comes to moving during season. They have to make zillions of dollars off of just baseball players alone when season starts. Its like starting all over every 6 months. Cant complain though because its so exciting to me!

Jess did a wonderful job in picking the apartment and I couldnt be more happy with it and its location. Yesterday they delivered our furniture and the cable was set up! It felt like the day was so long because I was so anxious for them to show up with our furniture! It poured all day yesterday so that probably slowed down the delivery process. But it finally got here and we love it! The movers said we got the best furniture they delivered all day!

Not too shabby huh? Thank goodness we got this place. Its so convenient and close to the field. I plan on walking unless there is a blizzard or tsunami outside! Last night everything went back to normal as I made dinner for 3 boys. One of the starting pitchers lives 2 doors down from us and we are having one of the catchers as a house guest because his wife and daughter had car trouble on their trip up here. Today they finally got the parts they needed to fix it and they are on their way! Thank goodness they were ok! They just had to stay a couple of nights in Missouri until the parts came in.

Tonight we are having an exhibition game against Ohio State University and Jess is going to throw the 8th inning. Our dear friends Mark and Sumita are coming and I am so excited to see them! Thank you for bearing with me on the lack of posts lately! Things just get a little crazy at the beginning of season!

Flying by the seat of my pants!

I am sorry that I havent posted this week but I have literally been flying by the seat of my pants all week. This week has brought a lot of busy-ness to my schedule and I havent had a chance to sit down to write and tell yall all about it.

Monday morning I hopped on a plane and headed to Texas so I could get our car and start driving up to Cleveland for opening day. Jess and I both assumed that he had made the team since there was a lot of speculation and "word of mouth" type of stuff that said he had. Well as soon as my flight touched down in El Paso for its brief stop I got a text message from Jess saying he had been sent down. It was definitely hard for me to keep my composure and not completely fall apart as I read his text. That would be just great, right? A passengers flight delayed because some CRAZY woman was LOSING it over how some GM and coaches sent her husband down to the minors on Southwest flight 337! I was mad, sad and hurt all in under a second. I was mad because he had done so well and I didnt understand how much better he couldve done. I was sad because I knew he was disappointed and I was hurt because I couldnt be there to console him. Those passengers do not know how lucky they are that I have changed and dont fly off the handle about things like that anymore. So I sat there in my seat next to the window and let my eyes fill with tears. I didnt let those tears drop from my eyes though. I just sucked it up and remembered that in this business things change so fast. Your up and then your down, your great then you suck! One minute their on your side and the next they wouldnt pee on you if you were on FIRE! Its a learning process in this sport, these things never get easy. And honestly learning to deal with them isnt easy. I feel like every time something is about to happen and we kind of see it coming, I start to try and prepare myself and yet when it happens it still rocks my whole world. Lucky for me I was going home to see my family and get some comfort from some level headed people. I got to spend a couple of days with them and then headed to Kilgore to pack up for the season. My dad and I were originally going to make the trip up here but since I was coming earlier than we had planned he couldnt make the trip because he had to work. Fortunately for me Kim was nice enough to take off work and make the trek up North with me! Thank goodness she did! We left at 4 am on Friday morning and pulled into Columbus at 9:10pm Eastern time. I am so thankful to God that we got here safely because there could have been so many things go wrong on a 14 hour road trip.

When we got in we came straight to the hotel and just hung out. This morning we got up and went to our apartment we will be living in for the season! Its BRAND NEW! And right across the street from the field! Im so excited about it! Our furniture will be delivered on Monday and then we will be set! Here are some pictures of it pre-move in!

The Living Room

Our Balcony (thats the field just over the train tracks)

I will post more pictures on Monday after they deliver our furniture! I cant wait! I hope yall are enjoying yalls weekend!
