26 weeks, Bachelorette Party and the start of another season!

So this week has been a crazy, hectic one! I flew home on Friday morning for one of my besties bachelorette party. I had to see my OB while I was home so it worked out perfectly that her party fell on that weekend.

We kicked off the weekend party with "Painting with a Twist"! After staying in a condo Friday night we got up Saturday morning for a brunch in Uptown followed by a Lingerie Shower. Saturday we all headed out for a night on the town but I called it quits early due to my legs swelling. This had never happened to me before so I thought it was a good idea to take it to the house and get some rest.

Overall the weekend was perfect and I love the time I got to spend with my friends! I cannot wait to see Kate and Mary walk down the aisle in the next two months.

Monday morning I had a date with this little guy. This face is so precious! I cannot wait to be able to hold and kiss that sweet angel baby. We have determined that he has Jess' nose and my lips and chin. He does have some hair but not too much yet, still hoping for some hair on that precious head.

Monday also happened to mark week 26 as well! Only 14 more weeks to go!

I was able to snap the gem last week while I was up visiting the facility last week though. I will share the rest of those photos on another post.

Anyway, I am off to bed. My Diamondback is scheduled to throw tomorrow so I am going to get some rest before the excitement takes place!

I hope y'all have enjoyed the week!

Valentine's Day Recap

With Jess being in camp already, Valentine's Day usually falls to the wayside for us every year. Pitchers and catchers usually report on the 14th with Position Players reporting a few days later. Jess hates Valentine's Day anyway so him having camp really makes no difference. This really doesn't bother me because at least we are together and not a million miles apart.

(Jess is front and center)

His team took a hike that morning up to Camelback Mountain. I hiked it a couple of years ago with some of the girls from the Indians and warned him that it wasn't a "walk in the park". I guess he didn't believe me because when I picked him up he was like "Oh my gosh! That was hard!". Haha! He had a good time and it was a great bonding experience for him and his team!

I got a manicure and pedicure while he was at practice and then picked up Chic-Fil-A for a picnic in the park once he was done hiking.

I LOVE picnics so Jess recommended us go on one for the special day! Luckily we live right beside a park so we just walked over and threw a blanket down.

Once we were done we headed back and I made monster brownies. I had been craving a brownie sundae so I figured we could make them at home to have after a special enchilada dinner.

Overall it was a wonderful day!

Our Spring Home!

We lucked out this year in finding housing. One of the wives of Jess' teammates from college gave me information for a realtor here in Scottsdale that they used and it couldn't have been a better one!

Within hours of inquiring with her we had a list of choices to look over! We found a place pretty fast and started with the paperwork. It was so nice having her to help us and be our "eyes" since we were in Texas. Finding housing is always a process and after last year's fiasco I wasn't having that again! Especially being pregnant ;) Mama ain't got time for that!

Entrance to our Condo's!

The flowers above and the mountains below make my heart sing! I LOVE these views!

This walkway is right behind our condo. You can walk from our place all the way to Old Town Scottsdale. It is very active and there are always people walking, riding bikes and roller blading which is great for spectating. We took a walk this afternoon just to get out and see what the walkway was about and we loved it! I foresee lots of walks in our future!

We have thoroughly enjoyed being here and both of us cannot believe that tomorrow marks 1 week since we arrived.

Off to get another week planned and organized! Happy Sunday!

House Tour Pt. 3

Hi there! Erica here, aka sickie.

Turns out I had the Flu but am now on the tail end of it (if I can hold on).

This week has been a total life sucker but has been made more enjoyable due to the fact that 3 of my girlfriends all got the flu the same day I did and have been suffering all week with me. Thank goodness for group text! We have been comparing and chatting about our symptoms and what we are doing to try and feel better. After this week I know we are truly soul sisters!

Since I am in a vampire state and as pale as the snow falling in the East coast I forbid to take any bump pictures for y'all. I am seriously 5 years to late in auditioning for the Twilight movies but would win a spot right now if they were auditioning. The flu has drained me of all color. My tongue is even white (that is an over-exaggeration) but I am sure at some point it was.

I will however give y'all the last part of the house tour, so without further adieu here it is.....

When you start down the hall the first room on your left is the master bedroom.

Entry into our master bathroom.

The glass door that accompanies this shower isn't pictured because I took the picture the day before it was installed. I assure though, that it is beautiful and we LOVE it!

Our closets are off of each end of the master bathroom. We each got our own because (let's face it) I need my space and so do all of my clothes and accessories. Jess doesn't mind one bit. He actually likes being able to make a mess of his closet until I go in there to retrieve his dirty clothes resulting in me huffing and puffing and then finally screaming "Are you 5 years old?? Can you not put the dirty clothes into the dirty clothes hamper??" He likes to lay them on the floor next to the hamper or all around the hamper but not in the hamper. But that is a story for another blog post....

Once you exit our room you proceed down the hall to the guest bathroom.

After you pass the guest bathroom on your right the next stop is the guest bedroom on your left.

I love this room! It is so warm and cozy! I know our guests will love staying in here!

The last stop of this wing is the nursery. Now before you think we went off and painted his room yellow, we didn't and it is just the way the sun is coming through the windows of his room. The actual color is "blonde" by Sherwin Williams.

I cannot wait to see his little head poking out from the top of that crib! God is so good and without him this beautiful house that we get to call home would not be ours. May all the Glory be to him!

I hope you enjoyed the tour of our house. Like I said before, I didn't show every room or every place in our house due to Jess wanting us to keep some sort of privacy intact. We still have a lot of decorating to do but that will get done next offseason.

I hope that y'all enjoy the weekend!

E

Miles and Milestones

We started our trek out to the West Coast early Sunday morning. We didn't really want to leave since the weather called for severe sleet, rain and snow but we knew if we waited any longer we would just push back our arrival and with Jess starting camp on Thursday, that just wasn't an option.

So we drove! We got on the road just in time and through Abilene before they shut down all traffic through there. I felt unusually tired so I slept a little while. I usually don't ever sleep especially if it's dark out because I think 4 eyes are better than 2.

Since the sleet and snow did slow us down a bit we decided to stop in Las Cruces, NM for the night. We were both beat so it was a good stopping point since it was only 6 hours from Scottsdale.

We got up at 5:15 the next morning and got back at it. Jess drove a few hours then I did and it went by relatively fast even though we were dying to just GET HERE! After 17 hours and over 1,100 miles later we finally made it and safely at that. Praise the Lord!

I started to feel congested during the last part of our drive but figured it was just the climate change getting the best of me. I was up at 4am this morning because I couldn't breathe and was coughing my head off. It only progressed throughout the morning so I called my OB and asked what I should do. It took a few hours for her to call me back so during my wait I MADE myself get dressed and begged Jess to take me to buy maternity pants. He wanted me to just rest and take it easy but we had planned to go yesterday when we thought I just had allergies.

He gave in so we went and found a Destination Maternity. While we were there I felt horrible. I didn't even want to shop but I wanted so badly to feel good and enjoy hitting the milestone of finally being able to wear maternity clothes so I just kept on trucking! My OB nurse ended up calling me back while I was trying on clothes and prompted me to go to an Urgent Care and get a Flu swab. The over-reacter in me, the George Banks per se, wanted to flip but I honestly felt too sick to make a big deal about it.

We searched for an Urgent Care nearby and after one failed attempt we found one. We waited for 15 minutes before going back. I ended up having fever and so they proceeded to give me the swab. I will say I am glad that no one told me what a flu swab was. I wanted to DIE as he stuck that q-tip down into my brain. Jess said he had to look away because it made him sick to his stomach. I probably would have passed out if I would have observed it being done but thank God it's over!

The doctor gave me a prescription for Tamiflu but I have to wait until he calls me tomorrow with the results before I can take it. I feel so sorry for my baby, I hope he isn't hurting in there. Being sick is the pits! Especially when you just arrived to sunny 65 degree weather and baseball season is upon us! I hope that I just have a bug and it goes away tomorrow, I honestly can't take this much longer. I want to cry!

As soon as I feel better I promise to post a 23 week update, pictures of our condo here in AZ and all of what we are up to out here!

Until then stay inside! Don't talk to anyone or go anywhere! I don't want any of you getting sick!

Have a great week!

Love,
E
