House Tour Pt. 2

I will begin where I left off last week in the tour. From our living room flows the dining and kitchen area.

Eventually we will have a bench that outlines the windows in the dining room with the table being horizontal for cozy seating!

Off of the kitchen is the laundry room and Jess' workroom. I won't showcase those to y'all because a) a laundry room is a laundry room, nothing special to see there and b) Jess would like to keep his workroom private so I will respect that ;)

Up off of the dining room is Jess' man cave. Here lies all his awards, milestones and special moments he has had in baseball. This is also where he goes when he wants to play Call of Duty or any other video games with his buddies.

We actually hung up his debut jersey this week, it goes in the picture above next to his Indians jersey. I love going up there and reminiscing about all he has accomplished. It's such a beautiful room and holds so much of our hearts in there.

The door you see in this picture is our "gym"/storage room. We plan to have a wall with sheet glass across of the whole thing so we can see ourselves and Jess can work on his mechanics. We still have to hang curtains in this room and some other little touches but with season approaching we decided to wait until next offseason to start on any new projects.

Believe me, I cannot wait to buy more decorations for the house! Jess is completely satisfied with the way it is now but I have so many more ideas that need to come to life!

I hope y'all's week has been a great one!

22 Weeks

Hello!

We are into the last couple of days of being in our home before we head out for Spring Training! Every offseason goes by faster and faster. I can only imagine once our sweet baby is here, how much faster the years will go by. All the while we will be wishing he would stop growing and stay little FOREVER!

These last few days are always bittersweet. While we are both ready to hit the road and for season to start, we miss our families when we are gone. Jess loves his job and I love that I get to be with him and am beyond thankful and blessed by what baseball does for our family. These last days at home are kind of like the ceremonial "pulling off of the bandaid".

I am probably more sentimental this time because I am pregnant and want my family to see my growing bump. I mean I seriously can't even watch some commercials on TV anymore. Steel Magnolia's (which is my fave movie in the world) has to be changed or skipped over in the TV guide because I just can't handle it right now. I almost sobbed my eyes out last night over Khloe Kardashian's current situation with her husband on the latest episode of "Keeping up with the Kardashian's". But don't mess with me, I can be meaner than a snake too ;) (jk, those of you who know me know that is a lie, or is it?)

So before I start getting all cray and sentimental on y'all I will get to the point of this post. I'm 22 weeks today! Here is a little 22 week update!

How far along: 22 weeks
Gender: Boy!
Weight gain: Truly unknown my doctor did not tell me at my appointment last week.
Maternity clothes: Maternity leggings are starting to be my best friend.
Stretch marks: None so far.
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Is better from last week. I haven't had any bad leg pain in a while.
Best moment this week: Jess is painting my dad's old changing table to put in the nursery. I am so happy that I can have something old and sentimental that Jess worked on for the room.
Worst moment this week: Realizing there aren't many cute clothes for boys, what am I going to do??
Miss anything: Still fish.
Movement: Yes!
Cravings: Orange Juice and Milk
Queasy or Sick: Feeling good!
Looking forward to: Seeing my parents this week!

The app on my phone says I have 18 weeks left! Another week closer to meeting our precious angel!

I hope Monday was good to y'all! Be careful if y'all have to get out in this bi-polar weather! Thanks for stopping by!

Love,
E

House Tour Pt. 1

If you keep up with my blog you know that we built a new house this past offseason. The slab was poured on August 31st and we moved in on December 24th! My parents partnered with my aunt and uncle have a contracting company out of Ennis, TX named JSJA Enterprises. They build custom homes so they headed the whole project for us along with help from Jess' parents! Jess and I worked with an architect to get our house plan perfect before we left for baseball season last year. So once that was done and our house sold in Austin they got down to business!

 Entry Way

You can see these doors in the picture 2 above this one. This is the entrance to my office.

My office!

I wanted this room to be black and white themed. The little desk was my grandma's when she was little and the upholstered chair with the mirror above it were Jess' Memaw's. I am a pretty sentimental person so I try to incorporate things that were our families in our house. It helps me not miss them so much ;)

The living room! Probably one of my fave rooms in the house. The fireplace serves as a double one, with the other being on our back porch. My dad built the mantle that the TV hangs over and it perfectly compliments the cedar he and Jess put up in the ceiling.

I still have a ton of decorating to do. The decor you see are all things that were in our house in Austin that are/were technically brand new. I will post the rest of the house another day but that's all I will bore you with today. I still can't believe that our house was built in just four short months! I will tell you it felt like longer with Jess being gone to Venezuela and my mom and dad making a 2 hour trip every weekend.

Many people worked tirelessly to get us into our house so that we could enjoy it before we left for Spring Training and we are so thankful for that. God is so good and without him this house wouldn't have even been built. I thank him daily for the blessings he has given us and I cannot tell you how grateful I am for every part of my life. We also want to thank our parents for all the work they did in and on our house. God blessed us again by giving us both the best parents in the world!

Happy Thursday Y'all!

Love,
E

21 Weeks

Hello!

And Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

I hope all of you enjoyed the holiday and this nice spring(y) weather!

We have been and are now gearing up for this arctic front that is going to slap us in the face within the next 24 hours. I don't mind though, cold weather calls for comfort food and that makes the baby in my belly very very happy!

Today marks 21 weeks for me and baby T! That leaves 19 weeks left, which doesn't seem long at all. Where has the time gone?

Let's get a little 21 week update, shall we??

How far along: 21 weeks
Gender: Boy!
Weight gain: Not sure but will find out tomorrow at my appointment.
Maternity clothes: Jess bought me a few maternity tops the other day that "really highlight that your pregnant" (his words). Other than that still regular clothes with the exception of one pair of pants that I have to use the "rubber band trick" on.
Stretch marks: None so far.
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Not too good. I'm having leg pain throughout the night so it's keeping me from sleeping soundly.
Best moment this week: We found the rocking bull for his nursery (which is a rocking horse but a bull instead) and it's exactly what we wanted.
Worst moment this week: Leg pain. It. Is. Ridiculous.
Miss anything: Fish. I didn't realize I ate so much fish!
Movement: Yes!
Cravings: This week it's oranges!
Queasy or Sick: Feeling good!
Looking forward to: My dr.'s appointment tomorrow!

I have a few blog posts coming up that show our house that I will be posting soon. I can't wait to share our home with all of you!

Now go and enjoy the evening, thanks for stopping by!

Love,
E

20 Weeks!

Hello!

As of today I am 20 weeks along! I cannot believe that I am half way there! It is crazy to me that I have been pregnant for 20 weeks already. I feel like there is so much to do and to buy before our little peanut gets here. This is probably just another over-exaggeration of my mind but I feel SO UNPREPARED.

After longing for a baby for such a enormous amount of time (it felt like anyway), I now feel like (excuse my language) "Oh shit, how do you take care of a baby?" My husband says "it will come natural....". I didn't realize he was such a baby connoisseur, but I am sure he is right.

My head is spinning and having a hard time processing why in the world there are so many brands to choose from when shopping for baby products. Like HELLO?!? I shop at 3 stores for myself and my husband and I feel like we a very taken care of. I am learning that isn't going to fly for our sweet little bundle.

All of you veteran parents are sitting here reading this thinking I am crazy, and I will tell you, I am! I will also tell you my mother is just as crazy and she will snap me back into place in no time if I really start to lose it. So no worries! I will learn shortly parenting is the hardest, most rewarding thing in this world and everyone fails once. Or twice....three times :)

Enough about my crazy antics, here is a 20 week update!

How far along: 20 weeks
Gender: Boy!
Weight gain: Still not exactly sure but I assure y'all weight gain has taken place.
Maternity clothes: Still wearing normal clothes except for the occasional maternity leggings.
Stretch marks: Still none so far.
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: A little off. I keep waking up on my back so I am finding it hard to sleep because I keep waking up to make sure I am not on my back.
Best moment this week: I think I have finally started to feel him move!
Worst moment this week: I have been experiencing some not so fun cramps and pains in my lower abdomen. This does not only not feel good but also makes me worried to death!
Miss anything: Sometimes I get the urge to run or jump. Old habits die hard.
Movement: Yes!
Cravings: Peanut butter and jelly is the latest on the menu.
Queasy or Sick: Feeling good!
Looking forward to: His crib being delivered. I cannot wait to see it!

I hope Monday has treated y'all well! I'm off to finish cooking dinner and then do more research on diaper bags ;)

Love,
E

Baby T's Gender Reveal!

Last Monday we had a sonogram. Like I said before I chose to not find out that morning and find out with the rest of our family and friends at the party the next night. I was unbelievably cool about it and didn't even peak in the envelope. MAJOR big girl steps right there!

The party started around 7 but guests started arriving a little before then.

This is me telling Jess that I knew it was a BOY all along. We had an ongoing argument about what it was and as it turned out, mama always knows ;)

This is my favorite picture from that night. Seeing our little peanut makes my heart skip a beat. We cannot wait to meet him. He is already so loved!

Now we look forward to planning and reviewing all the baby products so that we take care of our little Titan the best we can. It is going to be an exciting next couple of months!

Thank you to all that were able to make Titan's reveal party. We are so thankful for such loving family and friends. Also, thank you to the family members and friends who weren't able to make it. We know y'all wanted to be there and we felt the love from where y'all were!

E

18 Week Update

Monday marked 18 weeks for me and Baby Todd. I had a sonogram appointment that day so I was super excited! Jess had never seen the baby via sonogram so he was even more excited to see our sweet baby.

We planned to have a gender reveal party the next night (NYE) to find out what we were having along with all of our family and friends but once it came down to it Jess HAD to find out during our sonogram. I chose to wait until our party so our ultrasound tech asked me to turn my head once it was time to decipher the gender. I was super proud of myself for not caving and holding out on finding out. I wanted to be surprised so it was well worth the wait of an extra day.

How far along: 18 weeks
Gender: Saving this for a "Gender Reveal" post
Weight gain: I really don't know, my doctor has not told me and I always forget to ask because I am so overwhelmed when I am at my appts.
Maternity clothes: I bought my first pair of maternity leggings! Other than that I am still wearing regular clothes.
Stretch marks: Still none so far
Belly button in or out: In, but it's getting bigger? Weird, I know.
Sleep: Sleeping like a ROCK.
Best moment this week: Finding out what our sweet pea is!
Worst moment this week: Having to say bye to my parents. They only live 2 hours away but it's so hard for me every time they leave to go home.
Miss anything: I am wanting a lot of fish so I kind of miss that.
Movement: I haven't felt anything yet. I hope to have a bump and feel some kicks soon!
Cravings: The same hicken strips, gravy, french fries, catfish, potato soup and now popcorn and fruit loops.
Queasy or Sick: Feeling good!
Looking forward to: A growing baby!

We spent our first night in our house on Christmas Eve! It has been so amazing being in our house! We love it and are so so blessed! God is so good and we truly praise him for all he does for us!

I hope that y'all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! May God bless you and your families!

Thanks for reading!

E
