Mackinac Island Pt. 2

Last Sunday we headed out from Toledo on our 4 1/2 hour trek to Mackinac Island. We drove to Mackinaw City, (yes, the spelling is different) bought our tickets for the ferry and then boarded. It took about 35 minutes to get to the island because we took the "classic" ferry which is a slower speed than a normal get up and go one.

Once we were on the island we walked up the street and checked into our hotel. We basically just waited for our bags to be brought up and then we headed out. We walked back to downtown Mackinac in pursuit of a place to eat for dinner. After browsing a few menus we chose a place called Mary's Bistro. It was nice and on the water, which we all love! Once we had dinner and a few drinks we walked over to an open park area and my dad showed us how to skip rocks.

The weather was perfect! We were all pretty spent after that so we headed back to the room to hit the hay.

The next day my parents started their day off with massages while me and Emily pretty much hiked up a hill and did some sightseeing. Once their massages concluded we hoped on a carriage tour that hits all the main sites on Mackinac. It was probably one of the best tours I have been on. The package we booked at our hotel came with tickets to the carriage tour and Fort Mackinac so we were set for a day of browsing.

I don't want to overload y'all with too many pictures so I will be back with Pt. 3 of Mackinac Island. As you can tell the island was full of beautiful places to see. Walking from place to place was so peaceful because there were no cars allowed and that cuts down on so much noise.

Happy Monday Y'all!

Love,
E
