Mackinac Island Pt. 1

Well I have returned from vacation and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it! My family goes on vacation every summer and it is planned around where Jess is playing that season. Since we live 15 minutes from the Michigan state line we decided to head to the upper peninsula of Michigan and vacation on Mackinac Island.

I was super nervous about going because 1) no cars are allowed on the island and 2) I didn't really  know much about the island other than what I read online. I did a lot of research on places to go and things to do while we were there, so we were very prepared when we got there.

Our stay on Mackinac Island couldn't have been any more perfect. Every night we left the window open because the weather was so pleasant that we slept comfortably with the light breeze coming in off the Great Lake. The sun came up early and didn't set until a little past 10pm. Every morning we were greeted with a trumpet horn along with every evening. The temperature ranged from 65-70 while we were there so I froze to death in normal fashion but overall everyone was comfortable.

Here are a few pictures to get you started on our vacay! I will be back with Pt. 2 to share all of what we did and where we ate just in case y'all decide to take a trip up there!

It was a wonderful vacation and I've never felt more relaxed even though we were busy the entire time. With no cars allowed on the island the only ways to get around are on foot, bike or horse. We used all three ways but my favorite way was by bike!

I hope y'all had a safe and Happy 4th of July!

Love,
E
